Saujana Utama is being taglined as Bandar Damai dan Indah. The place is nice and quiet located some 15 kms away from Sungai Buluh township proper, make it some 40 something kms from Kuala Lumpur city centre. You know, it leads all the way to the west towards Kuala Selangor if you were to drive through from Sungai Buluh. Unpleasant I must say when at times we have to identify Sungai Buluh Prison as the landmark that lead to the area. You know, the prison became well-known when they kept Anwar Ibrahim during his tenure behind bars there. I chose the place by accident years back not knowing I would actually later love the place once settled there. Well, actually I just followed my instincts together with my wife's agrement and... and... on top of it, my daughter wanted it there instead of other choices we had in hands at that particular time. She said the house design was nice. Well, Sungai Buluh area was an obvious choice the place we wanted to be at due to my wife being posted in her job to Sungai Buluh, she's lecturing there.

The children, I mean the boys grumbled when we first decided to move to Sungai Buluh from Kuala Lumpur but not my daughter. She instead, jumped with joy. The boys were scared for having an idea of a new place, new school and have no friends. I told them, in no time they'd be making new friends and very quick they'd adapt to that new place. I told them how nice to have them riding their bikes down the hill effortlessly but they question over what about riding back up? Oh dear! Well new things not always easy. After sometime having them acclimatized to the area, have them running the new daily routines which saw the drop in their performances in school, some period of socializing with new faces; they bounced back and to really start liking it.

Being us, me and my wife as parents, we just love it to be in the area due to the "closed" neighbourhood that limit certain unnecessary exposures to the kids unlike staying in a big city - the place is conducive for raising children. In the retrospective side, it is such an event for them for the outings to Kuala Lumpur every once in a while.

But, me... travelling to office in Kuala Lumpur and back home everyday that covers some 100 kms is no big deal. It was a little hard on me initially to travel such distant but now I didn't even have much time pondering over things in my head while running through highway, and I'd have already either reached the office or back home for comfort.
